Moor Hall - Aughton
Local produce is everywhere at this restaurant north of Liverpool, and the best dishes shine the spotlight on single ingredients. Others balance lots of different components - still tasty, but feeling less product-driven

Sorn - Bangkok
Intensively flavorful and often very spicy tour of Southern Thai cuisine. Truly unique among all the three Michelin starred restaurants

Sushi Shikon - Hong Kong
Sushi that’s very close to the best one can get in Japan, plus several amazing appetizers. A wonderful meal

Caprice - Hong Kong
Solid, sometimes exceptional, French fare with great service and magnificent views of the Hong Kong harbor. Unfortunately without any local influences

Steirereck - Vienna
Seasonal cuisine with Austrian influences that had some good moments, but ultimately didn’t justify its three stars

Doubek - Vienna
Every dish is prepared over fire and coals in this Scandinavian-inspired restaurant. Extremely flavorful and very deserving of its newly earned two Michelin stars

Atelier - Munich
Predominately French cuisine with some good dishes. However, the majority of the courses didn’t quite click for me

Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare - New York
Small bites with Japanese, Austrian and Dutch influences served in a relaxed counter setting. Maybe missing a “story” behind the menu, but several dishes were superb

Jungsik - New York
Elegant cuisine that incorporates Korean spices and preparation techniques. Some superb dishes, but also some misses

César - New York
Japanese-inspired bites in a counter setting. Some great dishes, but overall not quite at the level of the chef’s previous three-starred restaurant

Casa Marcial - Arriondas
Modern cuisine reflecting Spain’s Asturias region. Very creative, and with a few truly spectacular dishes. Worth the trip to the northwest of Spain

Waldhotel Sonnora - Dreis
French cuisine with some Mediterranean influences that features many amazingly delicious dishes. Highly recommended

Casa Perbellini 12 Apostoli - Verona
Italian cuisine that was quite creative, but tended to fall in the “interesting” rather than the “delicious” category

Cheval Blanc - Basel
French cuisine executed with Swiss precision leads to intensely flavorful, but still well-balanced dishes that are also incredibly delicious. At the high end of three stars

Joël Robuchon - Las Vegas
Classic French cuisine that is unfortunately nowhere near the three Michelin stars it once held, except for a couple of standout dishes. The price tag has unfortunately remained the same, though

Sézanne - Tokyo
French cuisine with Chinese influences and Japanese ingredients. Consistently delicious and worthy of its three stars

Saison - San Francisco
An enjoyable dinner with local produce, but with a less focused cuisine than in its three-star heyday

Turk Fatih Tutak - Istanbul
Modern takes on classic Turkish dishes that are interesting, but lose a bit if one isn't familiar with their traditional versions

Aubergine - Carmel
Consistently flavorful seasonal Californian cuisine with some Japanese ingredients. Makes the drive to picturesque Carmel worth all by itself

Sons & Daughters - San Francisco
Copenhagen meets San Francisco in the best possible way: flavorful and delicious New Nordic cuisine that features seasonal Californian ingredients
